Call it waste, call it residue, or call it what it is . . . poop.
Dogs leave it, and it’s our job to pick it up. That’s why companies around the world are coming up with greener ways to keep our sidewalks and parks clean from the pet that just left it’s mark.
Dogs do what comes natural along dog beach in Delmar. That means running, and fetching, and doing their business. Fortunately many dog owners are doing what also comes natural…picking up after their pet.
To keep things clean, most owners are grabbing free plastic bags or old newspapers and grocery bags.
But some cities and environmentalists are trying to ban the bag.
Janet McCulley of Muttropolis says sales of dog poop bags are definitely picking up. Not only designer bags, but unique ways to store the bags on your leash or belt.
Online companies from around the world are selling their answer to a future without free bags. Offering bags in unique designs and sizes, biodegradable bags that you can flush down the toilet, all on the market to help you pick up the mess.
Most people around the country want to keep their neighborhoods, parks and beaches clean.
And people in the poop bag business want to capitalize on that…creating a variety of solutions to a problem that will never go away.
